A mini pick and mix stand for maximum profit    
         
   

Helping independents to build profits from confectionery, Hancocks Cash and Carry has improved its ever-popular pick and mix stand and has added a mini version to the range.  

“With more than 300 weighout sweets in every cash and carry, we are proving to be a destination shop for any retailer concentrating on loose or pick and mix sweets. We therefore feel that we must responsibly help retailers to display the product with impact and maximise their sales and profits from this product group. This is a profitable category of confectionery, which can achieve margins of 70%” says Hancocks CEO Andrew Hancock .  

Two sizes of pick and mix stand are to be available at all cash and carries, from mid July. With a number of improvements to the design of the stand, they are both supplied flat packed, which makes transportation much easier. The brand new 12 bin mini stand has been introduced to satisfy those customers who really struggle for space or those who just want to add a little bit more to their range.

“We have known for some time that there is a need for a smaller pick and mix stand for independent retailers, and Hancocks is now in a position to be able to supply this. We do anticipate that this will be a volume seller as the investment is less and it is perfect for even the smallest outlets” he continues.  

The maxi stand package will remain at £499, including the supply of 24 bags of stock, the value of which all but pays for the stand. The mini stand is priced at £299 and comes with 12 bags of stock.

A promotion will run from 17 July for eight weeks to mark the re-launch of the Hancocks pick and mix stand. 25% extra stock will be given for free on every stand purchase. This deal equates to approximately £100 worth of sales for the retailer (on the maxi stand) and so is a very strong offer.  

Coupled with a recently enhanced multibuy deal on the weighouts category at Hancocks, and a brand new image for the Kingsway brand, the cash and carry is truly committed to building this product group with their customers.

“Weighouts are a real profit opportunity if managed properly. Using one of our display stands, a high margin can be achieved from a very small area, and our customers are showing us that strong sales are there with both adults and children. As a company our sales are up on weighouts and we have many customers that are seeing this as a growth area too” concludes Hancock.
